Lauren Tilton

Lauren is a whimsy Portland creative, eager to help students achieve their musical aspirations. Originally from Denver, they’ve been singing and writing songs since they were a child and now release music under the artist name ii/lo. While avidly teaching music to students ranging from 5 to 50 years old, they also graduated from University of Colorado's music program in 2022. Voice and songwriting are Lauren’s favorite skills to teach, since singing and writing unlock endless joy, connection, and catharsis in their life.

They also teach beginner piano, ukulele, and guitar, among other niche skills like stage confidence and artist development. To be Lauren’s student is to receive full presence, intention, and collaboration to make students' music goals accessible, all while cultivating a deep appreciation and passion for music and all of the magic it has to offer. In her free time, you can find Lauren attending comedy shows, biking, crocheting, drawing, exploring nature, playing authentic connection games, listening to audiobooks, playing volleyball or simply being a foodie!
