Isabel Nakahara is a Portland-based musician who has been playing piano for the past 18 years. When it comes to teaching, she believes each student has their own unique talent waiting to be uncovered, and she aims to do so by exploring students' musical passions and goals. Growing up, Isabel played classical piano and began composing at a young age. She went on to study music at Portland State University, shifting her focus to songwriting, theory, and music production and eventually receiving her degree in Sonic Arts and Music Production. Currently, she performs with her band around the Portland Area as a keyboard player and vocalist and loves throwing events with other local artists. Isabel enjoys playing many different styles including jazz, contemporary, and classical, and is eager to explore any genre that piques her students’ interest. Her goal is to equip each student with the necessary tools and techniques to express their most authentic self through the beauty of music.
